Submission Guidelines

  • Authors can choose from six types of contributions (see the Contribution Types section).
  • Multiple abstracts from the same author are welcome. However, each abstract requires a separate submission fee.
  • Authors can submit only one Plenary Oral or Forum Oral contribution.
  • For Plenary Oral contributions, the submitting author must be the speaker at the Scientific Assembly. Co-authors are not permitted to present without prior approval from the relevant authority.
  • If you select the Plenary Oral contribution option, you must also select an alternative contribution type in case the Plenary Oral slot is not available.
  • Authors submitting multiple contributions may choose a poster or video interview for additional entries.
  • Authors must select one scientific topic flag (see below) when submitting their abstract to align with IAHS's scientific initiatives.
  • Early career researchers (ECRs) are strongly encouraged to participate.
  • IAHS 2025 has a strict no-refund policy for abstract submission fees.
  • There is no provision to waive the abstract submission charges.
  • A 3-minute video interview will be recorded and posted on the IAHS YouTube channel for interested candidates. Participants opting for video interviews will receive further instructions after abstract acceptance.

Contribution Types

Participants at the XIIth IAHS Scientific Assembly 2025 can present their research through the following contribution types, designed to maximize engagement and knowledge sharing:

1. Plenary Oral

Share key findings and scientific perspectives in a 15-minute oral presentation with 10-minute dedicated discussion.

2. Forum Oral

In forum oral author shall introduce research through a brief 1-minute flash presentation in the plenary room.

3. Forum Oral with Poster

Forum oral with poster allow you to present your research through a brief 1-minute flash presentation in the plenary room and a traditional poster presentation.

4. Forum Oral with Poster and Video-Interview

Forum oral with poster and video interview combine a brief 1-minute flash presentation in the plenary room, traditional poster, and 3-minute video interview. The video will be posted on the IAHS YouTube channel.

5. Poster with Video-Interview

Poster and 3-minute video interview enable author to present research by traditional poster and supplement it with a video interview shared online.

6. Poster

Display your work through a traditional poster in designated poster spaces.
