Cultural Evening at IIT Roorkee – 9 October 2025
As part of the XIIth IAHS Scientific Assembly 2025, IIT Roorkee will host a vibrant Cultural Evening on 9 October 2025 from 18.00 onwards. This special event is designed to mesmerize participants with the rich traditions, music, and dance forms of India, offering a unique glimpse into the country’s cultural diversity.
The evening will feature a professional troupe of dancers, singers, and musicians presenting a carefully curated program that blends the spirit of different regions of India. Highlights include:
- Nanda Raj Jaat – a traditional offering from Uttarakhand
- Kumaoni Dance (Chhapeli) – celebrating Himalayan culture
- Rajasthani Kalbeliya Dance – the world-renowned desert folk dance
- Chhattisgarhi Folk Dance (Karma) – symbolizing community spirit and tradition
- Punjabi Bhangra – a vibrant finale of rhythm and energy
- Alongside soulful Hindi and Sufi songs, brought to life by live musicians
This cultural showcase will not only provide entertainment but also connect participants with India’s artistic heritage, making the Assembly experience more memorable and immersive.
